CA - Pages

To make up for my abandonment I will post two posts tonight!

Since I finished Zoe's first year I can move on to another subject - Our CA trip last September! I took tons of pictures (as always) and what better way to remember the trip than with a scrapbook!

I'm trying some new things with this album. Trying to break out of the standard layouts I seem to be stuck to. We'll see what happens. I don't think I'll ever be one to post only 1 photo per page with tons of embellishments. I tend to be a minimalist when it comes to the bling but I'm trying to shake things up a bit and get more artsy.

Here are the pages so far:

I picked up a scrolly stamp in the dollar section at Michael's. I thought it could make a fun background.

I had fun distressing this one. I rubbed a brown stamp pad pretty much all over the smaller sheet of PP after tearing the edges and crumpling the whole page.

And there we have it. Hopefully there will be more soon! I've been on a kick lately hooray because I have at least 5 more books I need to do!

More Pages

Oh blog I'm sorry I keep abandoning you. I keep uploading pictures but forget to put them here. Sigh if only there was an automated function to keep all of my webernet places in sync. I'm sure there probably is but I'm too lazy to go searching.

Enough excuses!! here are some of my latest pages:

And that's the end of Zoe's first year album(s). Two books 122 pages... Yeah it's a little crazy lol I'm sure her second year album will be much less as I've gotten kind of lax on the photo taking. I have plenty of album ideas to keep me going though heh.

Latest Scrap Pages

It's been a while since I've completed any scrapping. A couple of these have been waiting around for me to take pictures. The last three I finished in the last day or so. I am SO close to having Zoe's first year album(s) done. No worries have a million other books to do ;)
bk2_page_53

Title was done in Puffy Paint. Flower and "all done" were soufflé pens.
bk2_page_54

Title again in Puffy Paint. For the BG paper (originally white) I used water color pencils. Sorry for the crappy pics on these two. I thought I already took pics and then put them in the album and blah blah =D
bk2_page_55
Title done in glitter gel pens, outlined in soufflé pens. The tab behind the invite is a letter to Zoe from me.
bk2_page_56
Sorry for the glare. My lamp reflected off the bottom corner. The title is chipboard glitter letters and misc letter stickers on page 2. The ribbon around the journaling is leftover from some of the party favors.

And that's that for pages. I'm working on the rest of her bday party now. And then yay it's done! So close!

Just wanted to share these cards also:
xmasthankyous
I made use of the (few!) Christmas cards we got this year and made some thank yous for the gifts she got.

finally

I worked on a lot of projects before Christmas that I couldn't share because I was afraid the giftees would see the photos. Well those gifts have been opened weeks ago now. Time to share!

First I crocheted two pairs of Abominable Baby Slippers. One pair for Zoe and one for our nephew Landon.

This photo was taken before I attached the claws but you can see them on the kids here

Then I made that calendar for MIL. I wanted a nice box to put it in so I found a mache box at Crafts Direct. IT was plain brown when I started with it:

I painted it with acrylic paints. The bottom is supposed to be Zoe's handprint but she smeared it hehe. The top is scraps left over from the calendar adhered with Mod Podge.

I also made a calendar for FIL:
tearoff_calendar
The base is an old CD. The holes are punched with my crop-o-dile and the pages are attached with brads. I figured this would be useful near his computer.

This is the box I folded to wrap it in:

I also made some ornaments but I didn't get a picture of them. I intended to make one for us but the darn thing broke. It was a clear glass ball with the same photo as the tear-off calendar inside it. The date was adhered to the back of the photo on cardstock. Think ship in a bottle lol. I don't know that I'll do them again. If I do I will seriously rethink my process!!

So there. I think that's all my Xmas projects. I have a couple more to share but... they haven't been gifted yet ;)

Best intentions

I swear I intend to update this thing more often but I just seem to find "better" things to do when I get computer time.
I have 3-4 back posts to make now that the holidays are over.

I have started a 365 photo diary on top of all of my other little projects so I have even more things to keep up with heh.
Here's the pic I took for today:
3_365

If you click it you can see the rest of the set.
The 365 group I joined is for self portraits. Some part of me needs to be in the photo and I need to take the picture. I figured since I'm usually behind the camera this would be a good way for me to be in more photos ;) I will probably make a scrapbook when I'm done... if I stick to it lol.

So yeah! there you have it. I hope to post pictures of the projects I made for xmas soon! very soon!
