10 months??!
It's really been 10 months since I've updated this thing.
Wow. That's really sad.
Well I haven't stopped crafting that's for sure.
I have so many things to share but for now I'll just have
to say hi. I've updated the look and fixed a bunch of links.
Oh and I changed the name. A friend calls me Crafty Chrissy
all the time. I figured it was well suited ;)
Hopefully I can make a real post soon!

I'm Back in the Habit Again!!!
So I took quite a hiatus from scrapbooking! But I seem to be back in the flow of things! I've been cranking out pages like crazy. I haven't posted any pages for over a year! OMG! I have been scrapping here and there since then but life gets in the way a lot lol.
I recently uploaded the rest of our California - 2008 trip to my flickr account. You can view them all here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/themalmquists/sets/72157612729232206/ It ended up being 43 pages. I finished it last weekend and was so pleased to be done!
Now I'm working on Zoe's second year starting right after her first birthday.
Without further ado:
Now I'm officially caught up... with picture posts anyway. I'll never be caught up with my scrapbooks! Baby steps lol. Hopefully you'll be seeing more of me soon!

Before & After:
My stylist says the braids were 12 inches long. i feel awesome and will definitely do it again... if my hair ever gets that long again lol.
it's still a little shocking to run my hands through it or catch a glimpse in the mirror. but i'm so glad i did it!

New Tutu
Last year for Valentine's Day I made Zoe a no sew tutu using this

Here she is this year wearing the same tutu:
After seeing the video linked in one of my mommy forums again I was inspired to make another one.

Zoe Loves it and never wants to take it off ;) As you can see I knotted the ends on this one to give it a different feel. It seems to keep the strips of tulle less messy so I might go and knot the other one as well.
Not bad for under $7! and about an hour of my time!

CA - Pages
To make up for my abandonment I will post two posts tonight!
Since I finished Zoe's first year I can move on to another subject - Our CA trip last September! I took tons of pictures (as always) and what better way to remember the trip than with a scrapbook!
I'm trying some new things with this album. Trying to break out of the standard layouts I seem to be stuck to. We'll see what happens. I don't think I'll ever be one to post only 1 photo per page with tons of embellishments. I tend to be a minimalist when it comes to the bling but I'm trying to shake things up a bit and get more artsy.
Here are the pages so far:

I picked up a scrolly stamp in the dollar section at Michael's. I thought it could make a fun background.
And there we have it. Hopefully there will be more soon! I've been on a kick lately hooray because I have at least 5 more books I need to do!

I had fun distressing this one. I rubbed a brown stamp pad pretty much all over the smaller sheet of PP after tearing the edges and crumpling the whole page.
